The instructor was covering the controls and the student came in a little to steep and bounced of the nose wheel and then touched the mains. The instructor took controls and conducted a go around. They completed a second trip in the pattern and landed the incident was reported as a tail strike and that was the extent of it. However after further inspection it was found that the aircraft had sustained substantial damage which by the NTSB830 was deemed an accident.
