From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot stated that during the landing the nose wheel started to shimmy aggressively. The pilot applied back pressure to the aircraft to take the weight off the nose wheel. Upon slowing down to exit the runway the nose wheel collapsed. After inspection it was found the shimmy damper bolt had been installed incorrectly and that cause the nose to shake enough to break the landing gear bracket. The aircraft slid on the nose gear doors and scuffed the paint and some composite material. There were no injuries and the damage was minor.
