From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Approximately 10 minutes into the flight, the pilot reported to get fluctuations on the oil pressure indicator, the pressure would intermittently go to zero then return to normal. They cross-checked the oil temperature and cylinder head temperatures, and they indicated normal throughout the oil pressure fluctuations. They made the decision to climb to 10,500 feet as a precaution. The oil pressure indicator finally stabilized to normal. Approximately five minutes later they heard a pop from the engine, and rpms reduced from 2,200 to approximately 1,300. Pilot declared an emergency due to low engine power and had to make a off airport landing approximately 23 miles east of pga.

As the FAA filed it
