From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On September 30th 2024 just after establishing the aircraft at FL370 PIC heard a loud explosive noise in the back of the aircraft. Aircrew assessed the situation, completed the necessary immediate action items and declared an emergency. Aircrew then commenced an emergency decent, and completed all appropriate checklists.

Some points of note; after the loud noise was heard aircrew observed the left engine vibration at full scale indication up. The pressurization of the aircraft was always normal. Just after the event aircrew noticed a small amount of smoke rolling into the cockpit. After completing the appropriate checklist aircrew shut down the number one engine and landed at Tallahassee without incident. There were no passengers on board and there was no damage outside of the engine nacelle.
