From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a normal engine start-up, the aircrew was alerted to an abnormal condition by the ground crew and PIC aborted the left engine start. No fire warnings were triggered in the cockpit during the start sequence. However, ground personnel observed a fire at the left engine and immediately alerted the crew and the airport fire department. Following abort of engine start there were still residual flames coming from the engine nacelle and tailpipe area so PIC elected to discharge the left engine fire extinguisher as a precautionary measure. The fire was fully extinguished when airport fire department personnel arrived on scene. There was minor paint damage to the to the aft empenage and left horizontal stabilizer. Remainder of damage was contained to the engine and pylon.

As the FAA filed it
