From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During touchdown at a slightly sloped temporary landing zone (lz), the pilot in command felt a rocking motion of the helicopter as the aft part of the skids touched the ground as the collective was lowered. When the rocking motion stopped, the pilot noticed a mast moment limitation exceedance. Simultaneously, the pilot heard a noise, felt a vibration in the cyclic, and immediately shutdown the helicopter. Post shutdown investigation revealed the main rotor blades contacted the wire strike bracket mounted between the greenhouse windows in the center of the helicopter canopy when the mast moment was exceeded. Deformation was found during an examination of the landing gear cross tubes denoting distance limitations out of manufacturer’s tolerances. The helicopter central panel display system (cpds) recorded the mass moment limitation exceedance at 111% for 4 seconds.

As the FAA filed it
