From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot states he was hand propping the aircraft to investigate an electrical issue that resulted in the alternator circuit breaker opening during approach into lake hood. He chocked the wheels and primed the engine, and after two failed attempts he decided to clear the fuel and start over. He turned the magnetos off, pulled the mixture control, and opened the throttle amd cycled the propeller to clear the engine of fuel. He returned to the cockpit to setup for a second attempt at hand propping. He positioned the mixture control for start and turned the magentos on, however, he failed to return the throttle to the idle position. On the second pull through of the propeller, the engine started at full RPM and the aircrat jumped the chocks. It ran forward into the back of the left wing of privacy data omitted, a Piper PA-18. It then turned approximately 180 degrees and taxied through an empty parking area before running into the nose of privacy data omitted, an Aeronca 11.

As the FAA filed it

IT RAN FORWARD INTO THE BACK OF THE LEFT WING OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A PIPER PA-18. IT THEN TURNED APPROXIMATELY 180 DEGREES AND TAXIED THROUGH AN EMPTY PARKING AREA BEFORE RUNNING INTO THE NOSE OF ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, AN AERONCA 11.
