From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft privacy data omitted, a Cessna T240, made an approach and landed at Phoenix-gateway mesa airport. Runway 12R was temporality shorted to 7201 feet while work was being done to the runway. The pilot elected to land on the open portion of the runway and rolled into the closed off portion of the runway impacting airport lights. The pilot was the only person on board, there were no injuries and the damage to the aircraft was minor.

The pilot said that he forgot that the runway was shortened and didn't realize it until short final. He continued his landing and ended up hitting the sandbags and then a taxiway light. The only damage was the wheel fairing cover. The investigating inspector gave counseling to the pilot, about going around next time and always having the ability to talk to ATC and clarify that the runway was shorter than normal. There was also a discussion about performing a better preflight preparation using foreflight and the NOTAM services provided.

As the FAA filed it

AIRCRAFT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, A CESSNA T240, MADE AN APPROACH AND LANDED AT PHOENIX-GATEWAY MESA AIRPORT.
