From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft, privacy data omitted, Diamond DA-42, was on an IFR flight with a CFI and a student pilot, who was flying the aircraft. During an RNAV practice approach to rwy 23 at P08, the gear was never extended into the down and locked position and this was not noticed by the instructor. On the landing flair as the aircarft settled onto the runway the CFI realized that the props were striking the surface. The aircraft was allowed settle onto to the runway and it slid to a stop, damage was limited to both propellers and the belly of the aircraft.
