From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 12/17/2024 at kgfl, the nose gear installed on, a Cirrus SR-22 aircraft, separated on the runway upon touchdown of the aircraft. The pilot stated that the aircraft departed out of albany international airport (alb) before performing commercial flight maneuvers and transitioning to glens falls airport (gfl) for landings as reported. The PIC was sitting right seat for the first time. The pilot noted that the weather was good and not a factor in the event. On approach the PIC stated that during the last 20-30 feet above the runway the airspeed was bleeding back to 88KTS and the power was reduced to idle. The airman stated he lowered the nose which caused the nose gear to impact the runway and separate on impact and there was no porpoising noted and only one contact was made with the runway. The pilot stated that the aircraft did not stall and that no horn was present during the event. The aircraft damage was determined to be minor.

THE PILOT STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT STALL AND THAT NO HORN WAS PRESENT DURING THE EVENT. THE AIRCRAFT DAMAGE WAS DETERMINED TO BE MINOR.
