What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
When on downwind, pilot selected gear down however the green “gear down” indicator light did not come on. Pilot contacted the FBO and asked them to verify the gear was down and overflew the airport. FBO personnel stated that the gear appeared to be down. Pilot re- entered the left downwind and pulled the throttle to idle in order to check the gear warning horn, which did not sound. Pilot made a normal landing and during the roll out upon brake application the aircraft started veering to the right, the gear began to retract, and the aircraft slid to a stop. Aircraft sustained minor damage to gear doors, retract mechanisms, and the prop struck the ground.
