What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On or about 01/22/2025 inspectors were called to Grand Rapids airport to investigate a nose gear up landing of a PC-12 aircraft. Inspectors were able to make a preliminary assessment of the aircraft and determined the event to be an incident verses an accident.
Inspector interviewed the pilot to determine the cause of the incident. During the pilots explanation it was determined that the pilot was distracted from the normal pre-flight and had left the tow bar attached to the aircraft. The error was discovered upon gear retraction. On landing at Grand Rapids airport the pilot secured the engine prior to touchdown to prevent damage to the engine and very gently allowed the nose to settle to the runway. No apparent damage was done to the engine or airframe
