From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot took off from Twin Falls municipal airport (ktwf) runway 08. Aircraft was climbing out at 1000 ft AGL, when the engine RPM began to drop 200 / 300 RPM and performance was degrading. Pilot reported he adjusted mixture and no change in performance was noticed. Pilot reported he turned back to the Twin Falls Airport as he was 3 miles out and the performance was degrading further and aircraft was not maintaining altitude. Pilot reported he started the emergency check list for landing. Pilot reported the aircraft was not going to make the airport so an off-field site was chosen and aircraft made a successful gear up landing with no injuries reported.
