From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot performed preflight, a run up no problems noted. Aircraft taxiied to the runway and lined up, went full power and 68 knots rotated. At 900 feet pilot felt a engine bucking and then 3-4 seconds later it happened again. Pilot powered back and controlled the aircraft with about 3000 RPM and turned back to the runway. Gear lever was set to the down position while still in transistioning upward. Landing gear failed to reach full extension before contacting the runway and collapsed. Plane touched down about 1/2 to 3/4 down the runway and slid toward the left onto the taxiway.
