From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 3/25/2025 I was attempting to land privacy data omitted a Piper pacer PA20-22 tailwheel aircraft at ktcy at approximately 10:00 am PST.

After initially landing at approximately 9:30AM PST at ktcy and it being a sloppy landing I decided to make a couple practice approaches and landings before departing the area. The first practice landing resulted in a bounce that prompted a go around. The second practice landing felt good and the plane initially tracked fairly straight but with a slight right drift. I attempted to compensate left and over compensated resulting a sharp track across the runway. I them compensated right also over using the rudder pedal setting up an extreme right angle, I then steered left at an extreme angle resulting in a ground loop. The plane struck the right wing damaging it and twisting the tailwheel off the rear of the fuselage twisting and damaging the rear fuselage in the process. The plane came to rest on the runway and there were no injuries to myself or the one passenger on board.

As the FAA filed it

ON 3/25/2025 I WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ A PIPER PACER PA20-22 TAILWHEEL AIRCRAFT AT KTCY AT APPROXIMATELY 10:00 AM PST.
