From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was on approach to rwy 19. Witnesses report there was a dog on the runway. Other company aircraft flying behind accident aircraft says he heard accident pilot state on radio that he was going around for something on the runway. Witnesses on ground and survivor who was seated behind pilot all report that the aircraft pulled up and to the left in a steep tight left turn. Aircraft appears to have stalled and spun, resulting in crash on beach just off the north side of the runway. First responders removed aircraft occupants then drug aircraft up above the high tide line, compromising the aircraft structure and disturbing the scene, making determination of cause of accident difficult. Wreckage recovered via landing craft to homer, then put on truck to hangar in wasilla, awaiting engine/airframe tear down/analysis.
