From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft was on an IFR flight plan from wjf to cma. The pilot received a clearance from ATC to fly the RNAV (GPS) z rwy 26 approach into cma. The aircraft flew southbound towards jurex (if) and was instructed by socal app to descend to 4000' and contact mugu app. Approx. 2 NM north of jurex the aircraft started a shallow right turn followed by a sharp entry into a 180 degrees heading change, followed by what seems like a left spiral to the west which ended in a high-speed impact with the ground at 1348.
