From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot took off from Page airport in Arizona after a refueling stop. Shortly after takeoff, the landing gear failed to retract. He cycled the gear switch numerous times to no avail. The mechanical gear indicators still showed gear was down. He made two passes around the airport and on the third, attempted to land. Upon landing, the aircraft traveled 5000 feet down the runway before the mains collapsed. The aircraft came to rest on the nose wheel and the two underwing external fuel pods.
