From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot flew to Weatherby Usfs landing strip. He overflew the runway and found that the wind was calm and chose to land on runway 21. On the base leg the pilot had terrain obscuring his view of the runway. The pilot was able to get sight of the runway after turning final and reduced power to land. The aircraft began to rapidly descend. When pilot realized the descent rate was too high, he added power late and landed hard striking the nose gear. After touchdown the pilot noticed the prop had hit the ground and the nose gear was damaged. Other minor damage was seen on surrounding panels. There were 2 other passengers on board, and no one was injured.
