What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
While at a cruise altitude, with autopilot altitude hold engaged & set at 3500 feet MSL, the pilot noticed a slow climb and that his current altitude was now at 4000 feet MSL. The collective and cyclic controls required excessive forces to move indicating a hydraulic system issue. The pilot validated the hydraulic switch was in the on position and then proceeded to perform the hydraulics emergency checklist with no resolution to the hydraulic system issue. An emergency run-on landing was performed at the Bowling Green, MO airport H19, runway 13. No injury to persons or damage to property reported.
