From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed X55 to the north and experienced a power loss on the right engine. Aircraft rolled/yawed to the right, impacting several trees as it went through the tree line, and came to rest roughly 300 feet east of the runway centerline, facing west and partially submerged in a retention pond. The left engine and wing were significantly damaged with the left propellor coming through the side of the fuselage after impacting a tree. Pilot and passenger broke a window and exited the aircraft. Pilot and passenger then walked back through the tree line and across the runway to the hangar to call 911.
