From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC (CFI) was performing training in the pattern with a student. During the downwind leg of flight pilots were notified there was traffic in the vicinity and were asked to extend the downwind and land when clear of traffic. During final approach flight crew failed to follow the landing checklist resulting in both propellers strking the runway. After the propeller strike the crew applied power flew the aircraft around the pattern so they lower the laqnding gear. Aircraft landed without further incident.

Ground testing by maintenace revealed the landing gear operated normally.

FAA personnel inspected the aircraft the following day to determine if the damage to the aircraft was an accident or incident. After inspection it was determined this was an incident.
