From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On the climb out of atl the flight crew advised dispatch that there was smoke detected coming from the galley oven - there was no fire. The fa pulled the cb and flight started to head back to atl. After the cb was pulled - the smoke slowly got better. Initially they declared a pan pan but that was later upgraded to mayday. The flight returned to atl and landed without any further issue.

Aug 29/2025 after landing the oven was inspected; liquid and burnt material was noted inside the oven. The oven was deferred; circuit breakers were pulled and collared. Sept 2/2025 the oven was replaced. An operational check was carried out with no faults found. The aircraft was returned to service. No reoccurrence has been noted.
