From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On the morning of 9/17 the pilot planned a flight from owd to pym. After a preflight, the pilot went in the aircraft and tried to start the engine. The engine did not start, so the pilot thought the prop was stuck. The pilot assumed that they turned off the switches, then went in front of the aircraft to try to turn the prop. The airplane then started up and taxied on it’s own power. In the process the pilot received a cut on his hand that required 5 stitches.
