From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC was flying from prc to hii. During approach, PIC decided to keep speed up and expedite the landing for other traffic. On base, PIC placed his EFB on the glareshield and reached for the gear handle. At that point, PIC stated an air pocket bump knocked the EFB off. PIC stated he caught the EFB and in his mind had put the gear selector down. PIC then selected full flaps.

On short final, PIC stated that he did not verify the gear was indicating down and locked as he normally does. This resulted in the gear up landing. PIC stated that he does not recall hearing a gear warning but stated not validating the gear was down and locked prior to landing was his fault.

As the FAA filed it
