From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot in command was operating this experimental amateur built airplane for the first time. After initial takeoff, PIC made a short flight in order to attempt becoming comfortable with flight characteristics. Upon returning to depature airport for landing practice, PIC performed 5 go-arounds due to difficulty maintaining a stabilized approach transition into the flare. During the final approach, PIC made a hard landing and swerved off the runway area into unprepared, soft ground where the airplane nose tucked under and flipped over coming to rest upside down. PIC had minor injuries.
