From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 25 November 2025 at approximately 0646 am (EDT), a Cessna caravan C208 experienced an engine failure after takeoff and was forced to make an emergency landing on runway 20 in Salisbury, NC (ruq). Aircraft overshot the runway and came to rest in the grass near gate #17 about 100FT from the airport fencing. No injuries to the single pilot and no subsuquent damage to the aircraft. The pilot stated the takeoff and climb was normal and at approximately 2400 feet she heard two loud clicks followed by a loss of thrust. The pilot then declared an emergency and returned to the airport. After the landing was complete, the pilot exited the aircraft and noted oil leaking out of the bottom of the engine cowling. Weather observations were calm at the time of the accident. The engine arrived the last week of February to a repair facility in Oklahoma and is curreently awaiting engine breakdown and investigation into the cause of the failure. Requested owner provide updates to the findings of the engine breakdown and will ammend atqa as necessary. Sas task T-EA68-FY26-0473.
