From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot of this aircraft was attempting to fly a local training mission. The pilot reported that he conducted a normal preflight and taxi with no mechanical issues noted. During takeoff roll, when the aircraft reached takeoff speed, the pilot applied back pressure to the control column, however the control column did not move. The pilot applied additional back pressure and the control column still did not move. The pilot aborted the takeoff and returned the aircraft for maintenance evaluation. Maintenance inspected the flight control system, and lubricated and torqued the control column bearing half blocks.
