From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During the pilot's first flight of the year in the Mooney M20F, the pilot was taking off and landing at Greeneville Municipal Airport (kgcy) to maintain currency. After the first touch and go, the pilot reentered the landing pattern and focused on setting the throttle and manifold pressure. The pilot turned the aircraft to base, and ignored all of the warning signals generated by the aircraft systems. Turning to final, the pilot focused on landing the aircraft, instead of his settings and surroundings. Pilot freely admitted that he failed to lower the landing gear prior to landing the aircraft at kgcy.
