What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
04/24/2026 privacy data omitted an SF-50 Cirrus jet was landing at Burke Lakefront Airport and went off the end of runway 6 left (6604 feet x 150 feet available). The approach was high all the way to the runway and faster than recommended approach speeds (vref) for the aircraft weight by over 20 knots during the last 100 feet to touchdown. (All information provided by pilot and verifed through aircraft data) the aircraft touched down past the halfway point of runway 6 left with around 2800 feet remaining. During rollout both main tires were blown, showing flat spotting and other tire damage. The aircraft started to slide to the right side of the runway leaving the hard surface at the end where it struck two of the REIL lights (runway end identifier lights)
The aircraft came to rest just past the REIL lights in the grass. Damage was limited to both main tires blown and the right main wheel hub had scuffing along its edge. The pilot and sole occupant was not injured.
