From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While enroute from erie international airport (eri) to lynden pindling international airport (nas) at flight level 310, the left engine N1 and N2 indications became erratic. The N1 gauge exceeded flight manual limitations and spiked to 101% while fluctuating rapidly. The N2 gauge was also fluctuating rapidly and ultimately failed at 0%. The interstage turbine temperature (itt) and engine oil pressure functioned normally. The flight crew declared an emergency and landed at Richmond International Airport (ric). Maintenance personnel inspected the left engine and discovered the alternator rotor and stator to be discrepant. The alternator rotor and stator were replaced and subsequent operations check was found to be satisfactory. Aircraft was returned to service. No further issues were noted. A service difficulty report has been filed by the certificate holder as required per CFR 135.415.

As the FAA filed it
