From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC stated that after all the parachutists jumped / exited the airplane, he proceeded back to the departure airport. On the downwind leg of the airport traffic pattern, PIC observed a parachutist in the area. While maneuvering the airplane to avoid the parachutist, PIC was distracted and the airplane descended and impacted terrain near the threshold of the approached end of the airport runway. PIC also stated that there were no mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airframe or engine that would have precluded normal operation.

As the FAA filed it

PIC ALSO STATED THAT THERE WERE NO MECHANICAL FAILURES OR MALFUNCTIONS WITH THE AIRFRAME OR ENGINE THAT WOULD HAVE PRECLUDED NORMAL OPERATION.
