From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Instructor and student pilot prepared for landing rwy 18 at klex. On final, student reduced power to get on glide path, then attempted a slight increase to remain on glide path. No response from throttle inputs and RPM remained at 1500. Student handed control of the aircraft to the instructor, and informed ATC of the issue and intentions. The instructor cut mixture at approximately 50 feet AGL and made a normal landing. Aircraft was towed to parking and no injuries or damage to aircraft. Investigation showed throttle cable had disconnected from the throttle input shaft on the carburetor.
