From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During an engine break-in, dennis wyza, while piloting privacy data omitted, experienced a sudden right wing drop when extending full flaps during landing and executed a go-around while declaring an emergency. Mr. Wyza was given handling priority and authority to land whatever runway was best suited. Mr. Wyza reported difficulty turning right and elected to turn left to circle for runway 13. Mr wyza executed a hard landing and veered off the runway to the left for another 600-800 feet through grass and taxiway b before stopping due to collision with a fence.

During a post flight maintenance inspection, it was determined that there was no mechanical malfunction that would have caused a loss of control. The plane had been fitted with a stol kit and modified stall speeds.
