From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Once cleared to land runway 28 at kapa, landed flat on all three tires simultaneously, bounced off the ground and initiated a go around procedure. With a slight quartering headwind shifted to the left of the runway, had full power input and was not gaining lift as expected and sunk toward the grass strip. The rear tires touched down on the grass, cut power and landed on the grass area. The grass area was not completely flat, so the final stopped position was on the left of the grass area where the land dips inward slightly.

As the FAA filed it
