What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
On July 19, 2026, at 13:30, aircraft privacy data omitted departed kpsk for a private airstrip to the southeast. During approach, the aircraft encountered an updraft that increased airspeed and extended the touchdown beyond the established go-around point. The pilot reduced speed, applied brakes, and maintained control throughout the touchdown and rollout.
During the subsequent fast taxi, the aircraft collided with small ground equipment. Forward visibility was limited by the aircraft's tailwheel configuration. The impact caused the landing gear to collapse, resulting in a secondary collision where the left wing struck additional ground equipment.
