From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 3, 2026, horizon air (qxea) flt 2152 was flying from pullman-moscow regional airport (puw) to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (sea). During the flight, the crew experienced two events of sudden yaw movements to the right with the autopilot (ap) engaged. In both instances, the pilots reported their primary flight display (PFD) indications showed full rudder deflection to the left. The first event was at a cruise altitude of FL280 for about 5 seconds, then the aircraft self-corrected. The second event occurred during descent when the aircraft began a right yaw for approximately 2-3 minutes. In this instance, the pilots disconnected the ap and manually adjusted the yaw trim until the movement was neutralized. The crew elected to not declare an emergency and the landing at sea was uneventful. No injuries or aircraft damages were reported.

Qxea has quarantined the flight data receiver (FDR) and cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and began troubleshooting. The NTSB was notified and has released the aircraft back to qxea for repairs. The chicago cmo has also directed qxea to quarantine the rudder pack and to acquire detailed photographs and inspection findings. An operational check flight (ocf) is planned after the aircraft is returned to service in sea.

As the FAA filed it
