What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The pilot and CFI were conducting a flight review at the time of the incident. They were performing pattern work and had already completed two touch and go landings. After touchdown on the third circuit, the pilot raised incorrectly raised the landing gear handle prior to rotation while on takeoff roll. The weight on the wheels was reduced enough, allowing the landing gear to retract. The aircraft came to rest on the belly while still on the runway surface.
