From the NTSB’s public API. By law, NTSB reports can’t be used as evidence in lawsuits over the accident.

Probable cause
Total failure of the landing gear tire. A major factor was the unsuitability of the terrain at the side of the runway.
Sequence of events
NTSB’s coding before 2008: each occurrence and phase of flight, and the causes and factors under it. The codes are defined in NTSB’s coding manual.
Analysis
Just at liftoff, the right tire blew and directional control was lost. Rather than going totally off the sides and going down a hill, the pilot intentionally nosed the airplane over to the inverted position.
