A proposal is not in force. If adopted, it becomes an AD, usually with changes. Only the Federal Register edition is official.

Summary

The FAA proposes to adopt a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain McDonnell Douglas Model MD-11 and MD-11F airplanes. This proposed AD would require replacement of low base terminal boards, related investigative action, and corrective actions if necessary. This proposed AD is prompted by arcing between a power feeder cable and terminal board support bracket. We are proposing this AD to prevent arcing damage to the power feeder cables, terminal boards, and adjacent structure, which could result in smoke and/or fire in the cabin.
