GRI - AFTER TAKEOFF, CREW ELECTED AN AIR TURN-BACK WHEN THE NR 1 ALTIMETER FLAGGED AND THE ALTITUDE ALERT WENT BLANK. AN UNEVENTFUL LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED. MAINTENANCE REPLACED ALTIMETER WHICH TESTED SATISFACTORILY.
