DOOR PAX FWD OPEN EICAS WARNING ON TAKEOFF ROLL. REJECTED AT APPROX 40 KTS. DOOR INDICATIONS WERE ALL GREEN BEFORE PUSHBACK AND TAXI. AFTER REJECTED TAKEOFF, ASKED FA1 WHAT DOOR INDICATIONS WERE. SHE STATED ALL NORMAL INDICATIONS EXCEPT DOOR ARMED WENT RED. RETURNED TO GATE. PERFORMED GVI OF L1 DOOR IAW AMM 05-25-00-211-802A / 05-25-00-211-801A. NO DEFECTS NOTED. LUBED ALL ARTICULATING JOINTS IN VENT FLAP MECHANISM. MEL RESTORED.
