AW139 Installation of Axnes PNG wireless intercom extension system in accordance with Document No. AXS-MDL-001, Master Document List, AW139 Wireless Intercom Installation, Revision IR dated 9/17/2020 FAA approved 9/22/2020 or later FAA approved revision. Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), Document No. CW0725-1106, Revision IR dated 8/31/2020, FAA accepted 9/21/2020, or later FAA accepted revision is required to be made available at installation. A flight manual supplement is not required for this modification.

1. The installer must determine whether this design change is compatible with previously approved modifications.

2. If the holder agrees to permit another person to use this certificate to alter a product, the holder must give the other person written evidence of that permission.

Based on 14 CFR §§ 21.115 and 21.101, and the FAA policy for significant changes in FAA Order 8110.48, the certification basis for the Leonardo S.p.a. AW139 Axnes wireless intercom extension Installation is as follows:

a. The type certification basis for Leonardo S.p.a. AW139 rotorcraft is shown on TCDS R00002RD for parts not changed or not affected by the change.

b. The certification basis for parts changed or affected by the change since the reference date of application, 5/21/2020, is based upon 14 CFR Part 29, effective February 1, 1965 plus Amendments 29-1 through 29-45 as defined on TCDS R00002RD. Based on 14 CFR §§ 21.115 and 21.101, and the FAA policy for significant changes in FAA Order 8110.48, the certification basis for this modification was determined to be:
