From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: in a telephone conversation with Mr. Wyatt brown, he stated that he landed on r/w 33 at 5 p.m. on 5/7/95. At flare out he experienced a wind gust from 060 degrees, estimated at 30 KTS, both throttles were at idle. The aircraft landed on the left side of rw 33 with the nose pointed to 360 degrees. The aircraft crossed r/w 33 from left to right into a grass area, coming to rest on taxiway delta. Subsequent to stopping on delta the aircraft struck a runway light with the left propeller, and tore an 18" to 24" hole in the lower surface of the left wing fuel tank, terminating at the spar. Further damage was done to the left flap. Mr. Brown stated that the throttles remained at idle while he held full right aileron into the cross wind and left rudder. As a result of the pilots description of the incident and his written statement I am forwarding this report to the operations branch for further consideration.
