From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the pilot made a straight in approach to runway 31. He initially lined up with a gravel strip on the left side of the runway. As he got closer, he determined that it was not the runway and lined up with a grassy area approximately 50 feet to the right of the gravel area. The actual runway was further right of this area and marked by tires. The pilot stated he didn't see these prior to landing on the unprepared surface. The aircraft landed on the mains and the nose wheel dug in and broke off. The aircraft skidded to the left side of the grassy area. The propeller and nose gear doors were also damaged. privacy data omitted This incident is closed.
