From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: a solo student pilot was practicing night touch and goes to runway 30. A commuter aircraft, DO-328, was on an ILS to runway 12. He reported one mile from outer marker and requesting the option. The student pilot was cleared for touch and go. When the DO-328 was three miles out, the tower controller denied the option, and stated, "report missed approach." The student pilot had landed and seeing the bright lights from the DO-328, believed he didn't have enough clearance for a go-around. Student pilot ran off end of runway striking approach lights and doing minor damage to aircraft. privacy data omitted
