From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: the student, Mr. Claud r. burkhardt was being given instruction by his instructor, karla heipler. They returned to dvt and decided to do touch & go's on rwy 25R. They landed, reset trim, mixture and did check and then burkhardt advanced power to take-off power. The instructor then pulled the power to idle and instructed burkhardt to abort. The airplane left the end of the runway (about 10 yards) and stopped. The tower advised them to taxi back & the pilot burkhardt did & stopped because of rough terrain. Upon inspection they discovered a nick in the prop. Propeller was replaced and engine torn down and inspected. No internal engine problems were found. Incident closed.
