From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot reported that "low strut & tire failure" damaged the "front strut and tire", resulting in a balloon during the landing round out that terminated in a hard landing, causing "some prop damage." On scene investigation revealed a shattered nosewheel with only the innermost hub remaining, a deflated tire, a bent nosewheel strut assembly, some minor buckling of the lower portion of the firewall, and damaged propeller tips. Such damage is consistent with a hard nosewheel first landing. Unable to see how any alleged preexisting condition could result in or contribute to such damage. Investigation also revealed that the pilot operated the airplane without its afm/poh and weight and balance limitations on board. privacy data omitted This incident is closed.privacy data omitted
