From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: on December 21, 1996, at approximately 1500 hours, N3772Y, a Cessna 210 made a gear-up landing at Corona Municipal Airport. The pilot-in-command, the sole occupant, was jack d. schuman, a private pilot. There were no injuries and the aircraft suffered minor damage to the skin and propeller. The pilot was on a local flight to test it after an annual inspection and had departed Corona Municipal Airport shortly before the gear-up landing occurred to do a few touch and goes. He stated that he simply forgot to extend the gear before touchdown. Although the aircraft was registered to someone else, Mr. Schuman bought the airplane for the purpose of resale through cullen aircraft, but did not have it re-registered in his name. privacy data omitted This incident is closed.
