From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot shut engine down and engine wind milled for approximately 5 minutes and aircraft landed at ewr without incident. Inspection of engine indicated approximately 1/3 of blades damaged on rear turbine, and damage to 2nd stage turbine blades. There was an 8" hole punctured through the turbine case and turbine blades exited into the by-pass duct, and exited into left side cowl. No blades exited side cowling. No damage to fuselage. Engine tear down report and inspection to be sent to NTSB (bob hancock). This incident is closed.
